Giving back
As part of Country on the Common 2026, we partnered with The Country Roses line dancing troupe to deliver a series of line dancing workshops for local young people attending Furzedown Recreation Centre.
These fun, energetic sessions encouraged participants to get active while building confidence, improving coordination and learning new skills. They also fostered teamwork, concentration and self-expression, while introducing young people to the rich traditions and culture of country music in an engaging and accessible way.
Bringing the spirit of country music into the local community is a core objective of the festival. Through initiatives like this, we are giving young people the opportunity to experience the rhythm, joy and culture of country music firsthand – right in the heart of their own community.
